Lesli Wood is a voice in music of the type that one doesn't often hear.
Clear and powerful vocals punctuate original lyrics from songs born of personal experience and worldwide
travels. Her on-stage humor and general rapport with the audience make every show more of a personal visit
than just a concert. Whether she is singing about her Aunt Reener's decision to "give it all to the Lord" or
her dog's serious flea problem, Lesli's style leaves audiences coming back for more. Born in Arkansas, and
living in Texas by way of Colorado she began singing in the bars and coffee houses along the Rocky Mountains.
After moving to Houston, in 1992 she spent several years playing with the folk/bluegrass group, OilField Grass.
When her banjo player moved to Egypt she took it as a sign to return to her own solo roots. Relocating to Austin
in 1997, she lives today with her partner of 16 years in Bee Cave, Texas. Currently working on a yet-to-be-titled
second album for release in late 2006, Lesli most enjoys playing music with her trio of excellent musicians,
Robert Asocar, John Dunn and Steve Quenan. |
